ACE Computer Essentials, Inc. is a woman majority owned 39 year old company specializing in office and computing supplies with personalized customer service. "We recently updated our name and web site to reflect the type of products and services our customers need and to position our company for continued success over the next 35 years," said Susan DeWitt, majority owner of ACE. She and her husband, David, are proud that ACE was one of the first of its kind, 39 years ago, to focus on computing supplies.

FROM TELETYPE TO BAR-CODES

When it began in 1963 as ACE Tel-A-Tape, Inc., the company sold supplies for machine tool tape punches that computed simple data commands and for teletype machines that transmitted electronic data.

Today, ACE Computer Essentials Inc. has stepped ahead with technological changes by selling a wide range of information processing and office products including laser toners, bar code labels, custom forms and storage media to companies that have progressed into the millennium.

The DeWitt's attribute their success to a commitment to the traditional values passed on by Susan's parents, who founded the company. Customer service is paramount. Customers who call ACE during office hours Monday thru Friday
are greeted by a real person who can answer their questions, and take their order, rather than by an automated menu.

Though the company is a small business, it serves thousands of customers from Maine to Hawaii . . . with the heart of the business, in its southeast Michigan base. "We are small enough to know that each customer is truly important to us. Ace is located just off I-94 I St. Clair Shores, MI. The DeWitt's have co-owned the business since 1993.
